Waterways Commission Meeting

Others: Paul Donovan, Ted Barret (Finance Committee representative)

Meeting Opened at 5:00 PM by Chairman Mike Cienava

Acceptance of minutes: The chairman asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting. A motion was made by Charles Beggs, seconded by Eric Winer and the minutes for the meeting on February 12, 2002 were accepted as printed, sop voted unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

Chairman’s Resignation:

Mike Cienava announced that he would be moving from Harwich to Central New York and was therefore resigning immediately as Chairman and as a member of the Harwich Waterways Commission. In his absence Charlie Beggs will be acting as the Chairman with a scheduled election of a new Waterways Chairman to be scheduled for the next Waterways meeting on March 19, 2002. Mr. Cienava’s resignation was accepted with the commission’s thanks and best wishes for his move to New York.

Charles Beggs continued the meeting as acting chairman.

Slip Assignment “Personal and Sole use”:

After much discussion about individual slip/owner assignments and qualified use, the commission focused on one slip assignment for the Tomasians. After more discussions a motion was made to accept the written material as requested by the commission for the Slip and Use assignment.

Matt Hart made the motion to accept the application and related ownership documents.

Seconded by Eric Winer. The vote was three in favor and one member abstaining (A.McMullen)., the motion carried.

The commission decided to gather more information before proceeding with the other applications for continuance at the next scheduled meeting.

Adjournment:

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn by Charlie Beggs and seconded by Matt Hart, the motion past.
