LV47 as Stonehorse  1924-1934 Schoor Barge aground at Peaked Hill Bars Schooner barge under tow in Pollock Rip main channel. All sails set Schooner barges under tow in Cape Cod Canal 1952 ALICE M. LAWRENCE 305', 3200 tons grounded and wrecked at Tuckernuck Shoal, Nantucket Sound December 5, 1914. Cargo light. Built in Bath ME owner Winslow & Company, Portland, ME ALVA, William K. Vanderbuilt 285'luxury Yacht built of steel 1886 at Wilmington, DE, rammed in fog by steamer H. F. Dimock July 25, 1892, no casualties. Wreck partly intact and mostly buried in sand in Pollock Rip,off Chatham, MA. ARANSAS, Joy Line Passenger Steamer. 241' / 35' / 16' iron built 1878 at Wilmington, DE. Lost May 7, 1905 after collision with schooner barge Glendower in fog. 1 fatality at Pollock Rip, off Chatham, MA. Wreck blown up to reduce navigation hazard. Large sections of wreck remain, partially buried in sand. DIXIE SWORD, Sword Steamship Line. Foundered in storm (may have been torpedoed) February 12, 1942 at Bearses Shoal PR channel. 324' LOA / 45' Beam / 25'Draft, 3283 ton. cargo zinc and copper. EDWARD E. BRIREY, 4 masted schooner cargo was coal. Foundered in gale December 15, 1917 (no casualties) at Little Round Shoal, 6 miles NNE of Great Point, Nantucket (MA). Wreck located on south side of shoal. FORT MERCER 503'LOA, (10,266 tons) Trinidad Corporation tanker. Broke in half in heavy seas February 18, 1952. Built 1945 at Chester, PA. Bow Section sank - 7 miles east of Monomoy Island, off Cape Cod, MA near lightship. Stern section of vessel was towed into port. HORATIO HALL
