    The Harwich Junior Boating Safety Academy has been in operation since 1998. Here were the graduates (7/14/00).     We think that all boaters not just new comers can use a boating refresher course. Learn about whats new in areas of hypothermia, first aid, applied GPS navigation and much much more. I would say a focused twelve year old is mature enough to understand and digest the material. (this will afford youngsters the opportunity to achieve a Boating Safety certificate card which is now required to operate any motorboat regardless of horsepower, if you are under sixteen.)

    HARWICH JUNIOR BOATING SAFETY ACADEMY

    Junior Public Boating Course beginning July 3th, 2007

    Stone Horse Yacht Club, Harbor Road, Harwich Port, MA

    A condensed five session Boating Skills course sponsored by the Harwich Harbormasters Office, USCG Aux and Environmental Police will be held July 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th, 12th, 2007. Sessions on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Tuesday, Thursday(exam) and will take place between 4 and 6 PM. An exam for completion of the course and qualification for motorboat operators certificate will be given on July 12th. Materials for the course will be provided by the Environmental Police. There is no charge, however space is limited to 35 students ages 12 to 17. Contact Tom Leach (508-430-7532)
