USCG Documented vessels can have 51% principle ownership and 49% other owners. Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registered Vessel must be 100% owned by the person having the mooring/slip in Harwich. Murray became acting Chmn for D Permit discussion. D Permit Discussion—FERRY PERMIT Tom’s discussion of rates for permits, square footage, sim to fuel dock in bidding things out. Critcism leveled at Tom is that if Saquatucket patrons cannot park, the passenger carrying vessels are gobbling the parking. MOTION: to approve “Ferry Permit”, by Bill, 2nd Lewis To add §, “Slip, Ferry Permit,” in definitions, HMP to read: Ferry Permit The Ferry Slip in Saquatucket Harbor is granted to the current corporate entity owning the Ferry, by the Board of Selectmen. This permit is meant to promote the Ferry service in Harwich. The fee for this slip shall be the same as the “Special Permit, Commercial Entity—USCG Inspected Vessels Greater Than Six (6) Passengers” fee. Upon any change in corporate entity owning the Ferry, the Board of Selectmen will may transfer the related slip permit to the new corporate entity owning the Ferry. This outline of procedure is being placed in the Harbor Management Plan to maintain continuity of the Ferry service. MOTION: The current “D Permit Waiting List” is frozen as of November 3, 2005 and it is redesignated as: “Slip, Commercial Entity—USCG Inspected Vessels Greater than Six (6) Passengers.” This list will be discontinued once current names are exhausted. The individual/entity at the top of the list shall have the right of first refusal for the next available slip in this category, if an individual/entity outside the list attempts to purchase the business of the vessel currently occupying that slip.
